To reinvent Select Comfort stores as a destination for shoppers seeking a better night’s sleep and help the retailer with its post-downturn strategy.
Like many retailers offering home furnishings, Select Comfort was affected by the downturn in the housing market and recession. To reverse its fortunes and assure more profitable growth, Select Comfort cut costs, stepped up marketing promotions, and closed under-performing stores. Additionally, they redesigned their stores to create a memorable shopping experience. With the economic challenges Select Comfort faced, it was important to partner with a vendor that could offer value engineered solutions.
Besides providing an affordable solution, we also helped Select Comfort improve the buying process by creating a personalized shopping experience with private spaces and educational displays for customers to discover their “sleep number.” The store environment featured opaque and mesh fabric panels using Construct™ system framing along with hanging signs and panels of Moss Classic™ round tube construction.
The final result was a balanced shopping experience that encourages customers to try and buy.
